Sam McClelland clinches Bronze medal for Monash University team in second last end at Southern University Games.

Thirteen matches over four days, against players ranging from Premier Division to novice with only one other player in the Monash side having match and pennants experience. Having one lost one pair’s game and won the other, Sam’s singles game was the decider for the Bronze medal. It all came down to the last two ends and needing four shots for the Monash University bowls team to win the Bronze medal match.

Samantha, currently in her third year of Arts / Law at Monash started playing bowls in Year 9 at Balwyn High School. She joined Camberwell Centrals Scholarship programme while still at Balwyn HS, and captained the school bowls team in Year 12 to second place in the State Schools competition.
Since joining CCBC Sam has played lead / second in the Division 6 and Division 3 sides (2011-13). Last year she played lead in the Division 2 side and third in the Division 6 side. She also played in the Wednesday night Bowls World Inner City Pennants Comp
